In April 2002, during the days of the former Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, the Laboratory Animal Center, Molecular Genetics Research Center, and Radioisotope Laboratory were merged to form the "Life Science Research Center" in order to develop comprehensive life science studies of the latest medicine and pharmacy in collaboration with regional industries and to form a center for promoting and supporting COE programs and other big projects. Later, the former Life Science Research Center and Scientific Instrument Center were merged to form the present "Life Science Research Center" in order to establish a research and educational system with unified capabilities.
　 In April 2015, the Life Science Research Center, Administration Center for Promotion of Research, Organization for Promotion of Research was established.
